Moiva, born from Efima's Hoiva AI business, starts as an independent company on September 1. Moiva builds an AI and data platform for better care work. The platform makes better use of the data care work generates, cuts down on administrative work, and gives professionals better information to work with.

Moiva is built on technology developed at Efima and in close collaboration with Finnish care organizations. In the transaction, the Moiva platform and brand, the technology, customer contracts, and the business's experts move to Better Care Technologies Oy. Moiva services already in use by customers continue without interruption.

As an independent company, Moiva can now focus entirely on developing, commercializing, and growing its care technology.

"Care professionals still spend too much time on systems and administrative work. Care work also generates valuable information all the time, information we can currently only use in part. AI and better data will change that significantly. Technology needs to adapt to care work, not care workers to technology," says Moiva CEO Tero Salminen.

Moiva's technology is already in production use in Finland. Its best-known use case is AI-assisted voice documentation, which lets a caregiver create entries by speaking, as part of their normal work. AI-assisted voice entries are currently being created at a rate of over 500,000 a year. The platform also supports information flow and shift handovers, data-based alerts, and management analytics, and it can bring in data from other systems.

Moiva has been recognized for its user-driven approach to technology development. Moiva and Attendo won together at Grand One 2026, where their AI-based voice documentation solution took the Best User Experience category.

"There's a lot of talk about AI, but for us the real question is what it can actually achieve in real care work. Technology isn't the point in itself. The goal is better care, and technology and data are how we get there," Salminen says.

Moiva is being built for international markets, for the long term. As an independent company, it's now focused on strengthening the evidence behind its product, its customer relationships, and the impact of its technology.
